Kaede Fukuda is a 23-year-old student in her second year at KCC. Fukuda, who is from Hyogo, Japan, is currently majoring in Liberal Arts and will complete her degree in Spring 2024.
Upon completion of her AA in Liberal Arts, Fukuda intends to stay on Oʻahu and go into OPT, which is Optional Practical Training.
“Right now I live by myself in the Ala Moana area,” said Fukuda. “It’s different from Japan, but I like it.”
During her free time, Fukuda enjoys hiking and going to coffee shops. One of her favorite hikes is Mānoa Falls because of the scenery. A cafe that she frequents often is Coffee Talk in Kaimukī.
“The menu recently changed, but before I would order one of the caramel lattes,” said Fukuda. “Now I get the haupia latte because I like the coconut flavor.”
