Landon Ablan is a first-year student at KCC who lives in Palolo Valley. The 17-year-old is majoring in Liberal Arts Psychology and is planning to major in Psychology. After two years at KCC, Ablan intends to transfer to University of Nevada, Las Vegas.

“I just want to travel,” Ablan said. “I don’t want to stay here for my entire life. I want to move somewhere else, experience new things.”

To pay his tuition at KCC, Ablan is earning money from his small business of selling collectible trading cards such as Pokémon and One Piece for about four years.

“I can easily cover my tuition at least for KCC,” Ablan said. “Not like a crazy amount, but I make enough.”

He mainly sells at local card shows and online social media platforms such as Instagram. At the card shows, Ablan enjoys helping other people selling their cards or just giving away cards. Most times, Alban will give them to kids.

“I just love to see people happy,” Ablan said. “If I can make somebody’s day or experience at these shows better, I will always do that.”
