The KCC farmers’ market held weekly on Saturday morning has been described by Honolulu Magazine as the “granddaddy of Oʻahu’s farmers’ market.” Running from 7:30 a.m. to 11 a.m., the market’s emphasis on local produce and freshly prepared island specialties draws a big crowd of visitors and residents alike. Though the market has become popular in recent years (read: it can be difficult to find a parking spot), the KCC farmers’ market continues to delight those that return weekly, or even those visiting for the first time.

Below are some responses from market patrons this past Saturday answering the question of, “What do you like best about the KCC farmers’ market?”

“The unique produce and the unique flowers that they have [here] that we don’t have back in Texas.”

“We come pretty often, maybe twice a month. [I like] all the different styles of food they have and it’s not always the same.”

Julia Lui-Kwan

“I like looking at all the different vendors and different types of food that you can get, things I’ve never seen before. This grilled chicken pesto pizza is really good.”

Sara Becker

“Being able to try all the local delicacies whether it be the produce or little dishes. I’m a big fan. The turmeric hummus was top notch.”
