With flu season quickly approaching, Kapi‘olani Community College will be holding two Flu Clinic Day events so that students and the KCC community can get their immunization up to date.
Those interested can get their flu shot on Sept. 5 and 6, between 12:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. in ‘Ilima 202B. It is suggested that those interested in getting a shot make an appointment online, as space is limited. They are also asked to bring a photo ID, insurance card, the vaccine consent form and, to facilitate the process, to wear clothing that allows for easy shoulder access.
Without insurance, the shot will cost $45. Payment can be made in cash or check. Times Supermarkets – which will be providing the pharmacy services on campus – requests that the checks be made payable to them.
According to the Hawaiʻi State Department of Health, the yearly immunization is suggested even to those who don’t get sick easily or have had a flu shot before, due to the different strands of the virus, which change often.
