Riho Shirai is a first-year student at KCC majoring in Liberal Arts. She wishes to get a career in business administration when she graduates.

Shirai is particularly interested in gender issues and the working conditions for females in Japan, and she wrote about the theme in her English 100 class this Fall 2018. She said that in Japan there is great disparity in wages between males and females.

In her free time, the 20-year-old enjoys watching Japanese animations and baking. Lemon pies are her specialty.
