Anthony Murakami

Anthony Murakami was born and raised in Honolulu and is a returning student, attending KCC part-time this semester. In 2010, Murakami graduated from KCC with his degree in Exercise and Sport Science, but in 2013 he decided to come back and pursue his Liberal Arts degree.

He originally had plans to go back to school and get his degree in Food Science and Human Nutrition at UH Mānoa. However, Murakami recently changed his mind about continuing in that program and decided to would be best to finish off his classes for Liberal Arts. Currently, he is three classes away from graduating and has not decided what path he wants to continue on when he finishes.

During his free time, Murakami enjoys running and kick-boxing when he’s not working or at school.

Kana Mampuku

In her first-year attending KCC, 28-year-old Kana Mampuku moved from Osaka, Japan to Hawaiʻi to pursue a degree in Culinary Arts. Mampuku decided to move to Hawaiʻi hoping to learn English and become more familiarized with the food industry. 

In the future, Mampuku strives to start her own business that will allow her to teach cooking classes around the world. 

As Mampuku works to accomplish her goals, she enjoys the atmosphere of KCC and Hawaiʻi, expressing her love for the nice temperatures and good people.

Robin Henski

Robin Henski, 21, is originally from Houston, Texas. She has lived in Hawaiʻi for four years and has been at student at KCC for three years. She has her hands full with school and work but when she has free time she still makes time for her family. She plans to transfer to UH-Mānoa next semester to study Environmental Law.

“I’ve always loved law and the environment so, when I found a way to incorporate both in my life,” she said. “It was an exciting path to pursue.”

After college, Robin plans to move to New York or back to Texas to start her career in law.
