Following the national school walkout on March 14th, this Saturday, students throughout the UH system and local high school students will be participating in the national movement, March For Our Lives, to urge government officials to take a stricter stance on gun laws in America.

The march will start at the Hawai‘i State Capitol on Beretania, at 10:30 a.m., and will last until 12:00 p.m., ending at the state capitol building. Following the march, there will be a rally with speakers Taylor McKenzie and Monica Kenny, students from Sacred Hearts Academy and high school student Taylor Lawson from La Pietra School. UH Mānoa students Sarah Catino and Jun Shin from UH Mānoa will also be speaking.

This event is open to all students, staff and community members. The organizers are looking for volunteer marshalls who will show up at 9:00 a.m. and are looking for organizations to help with noisemakers, bullhorns, and speaker systems. Any organization planning to attend is encouraged to bring tables and information regarding their group.
